BackgroundWhen did you make your site?The Dragon Warrior Animation Gallery became Dragon-Warrior.com on 9.14.2000. My site's updates page began in April 2000. To learn about my site's history with images visit my history page.Why did you make this site?Dragon Warrior (Dragon Quest in Japan) is the best console RPG ever made! One day I enjoyed making some animated gifs about it and eventually decided to give them their own site. Making animated gifs gets boring sometimes so I thought of some other things I could make for Dragon Warrior. A huge reason I made this site is to help people find material for Dragon Warrior and organizing the Dragon Warrior portion of the web.What happened to the Dragon Warrior Animation Gallery?The Dragon Warrior Animation Gallery was the former name of Dragon-Warrior.com. It's still part of my site, but I expanded the Dragon Warrior Animation Gallery's images of animated gifs to icons, still pictures, and wallpapers. I also expanded my site by adding a Dragon Warrior Message Board, Dragon Warrior polls, the Dragon Warrior Search Engine, my Dragon Warrior Newsletter, and the Dragon Warrior Top 10. Since it is no longer truely only a Dragon Warrior Animation Gallery Dragon-Warrior.com is more representitive of the content.I thought this was the Animated Gif Gallery with animated gifs to the Legend of Zelda theme. Where are they now?Yep. The Legend of Zelda Animated Gif Theme page was moved to my other site, The Zelda Animated Gif Gallery. My web site started as a gallery of animated gifs I made based on Dragon Warrior, Zelda, and my own ideas, but I have made it into an all Dragon Warrior Site.How often is Dragon-Warrior.com updated?I update people on the latest major Dragon Warrior/Dragon Quest news as soon as I find out about it. Besides that if you take a look at the updates (either on the home page, or updates section), it's self-explanatory. I make pictures, icons, and animated gifs whenever I find the time and inspiration. I add one or more poll once a month, add more sites to the Dragon Warrior Search Engine roughly every two weeks, and I send the Dragon Warrior newsletter once a week.What happened to the updates page?The updates page has been replaced with the up to date news (shown on the home page) and the archives page.What is the picture on the Dragon-Warrior.com logo from?It was from one of the books that came with Dragon Warrior (I think the Adventurer's Guide). The picture was from the story of Dragon Warrior. The red dragon was the dragon who the Dragonlord was surprised didn't kill him (and instead was his servant).What is the Dragon-Warrior.com logo from?An edited version of the Dragon Warrior 1&2 GBC logo.ComicsWhy don't you draw your comics?Because that would be hard. I have drawn some anime pictures but they took about an hour to draw per character.Where do you get the graphics to make your comics?Focus donated them to my site, originally to help people obtain tile sets and character sprites to make their own Fan-Made games. Check the images section. This should also explain why I don't use the NES graphics.How do you make your comics?I made this how to make a comic walkthrough to show you!Is your comic a rip off of 8-Bit Theater?Yes.Have you thought of any original ideas not already done in 8-Bit theater?Yes.Like what?Actually one of the few ideas I stole was how townsfolk always say the same thing, which is just one of several mysteries my comic has addressed. I actually got to post how the king is a cheap corrupt basterd before 8-Bit theater.How often is your comic updated?So far I've at least added 3 comics to the main series every week. Bonus comics are made randomly.When did you start your comic?June 4, 2001The price of swords is outrageous! What the heck?I don't know. It's like that in the game.Why do you use the original NES translation of character and town names?Because that's what I know. As far as I know in Japan Erdrick is called something as silly as Roto and Lorik something like Lars. But that's just a random guess.The King Slime graphic in issue 5 was from Dragon Warrior Monsters!I know.But that's not the color it usually is!I know.Why did you change the King Slime's color?Because the slimes that combined weren't that color.Wasn't the hero arrested? What happened?I already explained in issue 11.Uh no. Issue 11 did not answer why he was arrested.That's the joke. Get it?Nope... Hey! I'm supposed to ask questions. Not you!You can't stop me. No one can.Who is the old man that follows the hero around?He's the guy that resurrects the hero when he dies, of course.Who's the old guy that looks like the old friend of the hero in issue 12?I don't know. Play the game and find out for yourself.Why isn't ITEM a battle command option?Because I forgot to put it there.Was purchasing a torch really taken out of the comic for not being funny?Nope. Just another gag I thought of at the last minute.In issue 17 a to be continued dingy is before a commercial. TV doesn't do that!I know. It would have made more sense if the hero said it was a cliff hanger to get you to watch the next episode or something. Oh well.Why do you just show the same picture over and over in issue 20, 21, and 22?Why not?What are the actual reasons for believing it's unheathy to be evil? And don't say blah blah blah!Basically people have reflective intellectual desires, appittive bodily desires, and passionate emotional desires. Ethical behavior is accomplished when a person is controlled by their reflective intellectual desires.A person who is evil is controlled by their bodily and obsessive desires, rather than their intellectual side. They choose to be a slave to their bodies and passions. Bodily addictions and passionate obsessions can never be fulfilled. It's not a fun way to live. Get it? If not, read the Socrates' Dialogues. Where did Fido come from in issue 24?I don't know. My friend Mike made that part of issue 24 up, so if you don't like it, then it's his fault.In issue 25 the hero gains a level. That's impossible! He only beat a ghost, drakee, and slime!Yeah, he wouldn't have had enough experience to be level 3 yet. It's my comic so I can do whatever I want.In issue 26 why did you start using sideways LATER dingies instead of saying later in a white box?Because I made the comic before I realized the white boxes with later should be in it, so there wouldn't be enough room for it.Why can't poor Greorge attack Zoma head-on?To be funny. Get it? haha...Chrissy wrote issue 26, so if you don't like it blame her. What are Final Fantasy heroes doing in the Dragon Warrior comic?That is explained in issue 29Stop putting Final Fantasy heroes in the Dragon Warrior comic now!!! AAAH!!!Uh I already stopped. But if for some reason I feel like putting em in again or making more Warriors of the Dinner Table episodes they will be back... AND YOU CAN'T STOP ME!Where'd you get the font for the angry letters in issue 26?It's not a font, I drew that stuff all by myself. The dice also used to be boxslimes.Black Mage is NOT Orko!I know.How come in issue 27 Red Mage doesn't have a drink but then in issue 28 he does?Because I decided to make the next comic about his drink after I already finished the other one.The poem of issue 30 sucked!Sorry.Why does Garland have such big breasts?Maybe he used to have prostate cancer.Why are the battle text screens in all caps until issue 34?Because I realized they aren't really all-caps like that in the games.In issue 35 where the skeleton kills the hero, why didn't the hero just use his jet-powered rocket pants and blast his way out of there?An excellent and inventive suggestion, sir, with just two tiny drawbacks: A.) He doesn't have any jet-powered rocket pants; and B.) There's no such thing as jet-powered rocket pants outside the the fictional serial Jonny Rocket Pants.Why was the princess at the dragonlords castle? I never heard about that in the real game.Maybe the Dragonlord wanted to do evil things to her.Why don't you have an updates' section The only people who will know when you update are fanatics that go there every day.I already have all my site's updates on my home page at Dragon-Warrior.com The comics are part of a larger site.In issue 36 you use the later... thingie in a white box again. I thought you were going to have it virtically between the frames?I just did it out of impulse. I never promised consistency.In issue 51 one of the mountians near the cave enterence was an NES mountian.I know. It's a Secret.How come you never see people in the overworld of the game but you do in your comics?Because it's more fun that way.Hey, I was wondering, with your Dragon Quest 6 comic, how you played it. Do you have a completely translated rom of it, or is it just a partial one? If so, do you ever give it out, or have a link where I could download it? I thought I had an english version, but I havent seen any english in it so far.Yes, both Dragon Quest 5 and 6 are almost completely translated and are fully playable. Let me know where your site is so I can take a look!May I use your images on my computer?Of course!How do you make animated gifs?I created the animated gifs using Paintbrush and "Animagic Gif."Go to http://www.rocketdownload.com/details/grap/animag32.htm to get your free Animagic Gif demo. To make animated gifs I just draw pictures in MS Paint and save them as gifs. I save them in order (dragon01, dragon02, etc.) so I can open them all with Animagic at once, and they will all stay in order. Then I use Animagic Gif to control the speed and placement of the images. Why do you make Dragon Warrior animated gifs?I was originally interested in making animated gifs when i saw a Dragon Warrior animated gif of a slime cast a fireball back at the Dragon Warrior hero called "Yuusha" by Ian Kelly. My version has the slime fight a wizard and attack back physically.Why don't these animated icons move?Some of the Dragon Warrior animated gifs are animated with Internet Explorer but not Netscape.How did you make your images resemble the games so well?Most of the images are edited screen shots. Many are edited in such a way I basically just redrew the new picture over the old.
