Giant Scorpion

Giant Scorpions are just like regular scorpions (an arachnid with pincers and a tail with a poisonous stinger), but are much larger.

In Greek mythology, a giant scorpion appeared in a myth involving Orion (son of Poseidon, the God of the sea). In the myth, Artemis convinced Orion to become her hunting companion. Apollo (Artemis' brother) feared the chastity of his sister and let a giant scorpion loose to chase Orion into the sea.

Giant Scorpions also appeared in Dungeons and Dragons as a monster usually found in deserts and other warm climates.
